 WHY PERSONALIZE? The main goal of personalization is to deliver content and functionality that matches specific user needs or interests, with no effort from the targeted users. The system profiles the user and adjusts the interface according to that profile. Personalization may deliver or emphasize particular information, restrict or grant access to certain tools, or simplify transactions and processes by remembering information about a user. On a travel site, a user may see promotions and specials for locations they’ve visited before or recently searched for. On an intranet, personalization could remove access to a tool intended only for certain employees. In an app, personalization might retain past searches to enable quick access to information that might be of interest again. APPLICATION OF I.T IN EDUCATION   A BRIEF OF THE 5TH GENERATION COMPUTERS The fifth generation of computer are PCs of Pentium, notebooks from IBM, workstations of SUN, IBM SP/2, and supercomputers with PARAM. In contrast to all computers from the previous generation, the next generation of computers is defined by the methods employed to reduce complex programming. This method is known as AI (Artificial Intelligence). The Ministry of International Trade and Industry of Japan began developing the 5th Generation of Computer system in 1982. With supercomputer-like capability, it planned to build an "epoch-making computer" and serve as a foundation for future advancements in artificial intelligence.
